We did it!

For many months I've been wanting to make these cupcake pops from Bakerella. With the rainy weekend we had, I knew this weekend would be the perfect time to try them. Hubs helped out and he deserves just as much credit for their success.

They are quite a bit of work, but well worth it!

We also made just a few regular cupcake bites and here's our pre-consumption cheers!



It definitely seemed like a two person job. I'm not sure how Bakerella does it by herself.

We will for sure make these again. In fact, I hope to be known for them within our family. Craig's Aunt Carol makes these awesomely decorated sugar cookies and everyone looks forward to holidays because they know they'll get to eat some of her cookies. Maybe as I practice making these cupcake bites and become good at them, they'll make me popular at family functions, too :)

 

Disney gear

I'm currently in Orlando at the second largest meeting of Family Physicians in the country. We presented this morning and it was a big success! We got great feedback from those who attended our talk.

This afternoon, we headed over to Disney World to hit up the Disney Store. We had hoped to visit the park (Magic Kingdom) but the weather wasn't cooperating.

I snagged this really cute and funny mug at the Disney Store. I got an even funnier one, but I think I'll give it as a gift to my older sister.

Orlando is really fun. Craig and I should trip back here sometime. Alright, time to head out for a seafood dinner with the folks!

Where we are

Like most of our friends and family, we've experienced quite a bit of winter weather 'round here. Cooper has especially enjoyed the cold, white, fluffy stuff :)

I snapped a few pictures yesterday and today. We averaged about 6 inches in the last 24 hours. The clinic opened late today due to the weather. I've not slept well the last two nights b/c I have to wake up and decide whether to open the clinic. Afraid I would sleep through my 5:00am alarm, I pretty much woke up every hour on the hour starting about midnight until 4:30am when I decided to just get up b/c I wasn't sleeping anyway.

I'm hoping with the inclement weather behind us, I'll sleep better tonight.

My Elf gear

I had other plans for tonight, but due to a scheduling mix up with the organization, I'm free tonight and have rescheduled the event for another evening.

I guess it works out because I have a nice pot roast I'm making for dinner.

My Christmas gear is helping me get into the holiday spirit....



I love toe socks. I know they freak some people out, but they keep me so toasty and warm!

In the pic, I'm wearing jeans and my half apron, which was my outstanding purchase this weekend. I already have 2 other aprons (which desperately need a good washing) but I saw this half apron and really wanted it. I rarely wear a full apron properly. I usually fold it in half and tie it around my waist b/c the "halter" top of most aprons really bothers me when I'm cooking. So, this super cute half apron is just what I need.

Now, if I could only be a size -2 and have glowing red hair, I'd be set!
